We have many happy memories of Etta, Ray, and Susan at family gatherings throughout the years. Spending time on July 4th at "the shack" on the lake was a highlight of our summers, when our kids were young. We had such fun picnics and ate so well. And it was always nice to see my grandma's ( Etta's mom) picture on the wall. I remember one Thanksgiving my parents were hosting when we lived in Centralia. Both sides of the family were coming. Etta, Ray, and Susan made it; my mom's relatives ended up in a field north of Jamestown. The Cornells not only had Thanksgiving dinner with us, it was very cozy as we were snowed in and they had to stay for a couple of days. Don't know about the adults, but us kids didn't mind.
My memories of Etta are that she loved to laugh, was a great cook, and when we were older and our kids were gone, we met her and Ray when we visited family in the Jamestown area, and would meet for dinner. She always looked like a million bucks.
I pray she is at peace.
