I have really great memories of Ray. He was my very first boss at a grocery store called Food Lion. He was very fair and gave me advice about work and also about life. I was a teenager at the time and he helped me out a lot with all sorts of issues. He is one that will truly be missed, and it's way too soon for him to be missed. My prayers are certainly with his wife and children!

Ray was a great friend and could cheer up anyone one with his smile and humor. I have fond memories of Ray, from high school and several years back when we ran into each other. I remember telling him I was working on my upstairs bathroom and needed to replace the toilet, but didn't know what to do. Ray said to meet him at a rental property he had in town. When I arrived he said he needed to replace the toilet and together we removed it, repaired the floor under it and installed the new toilet. To me Ray was a great friend, good teacher, fun, uplifting personality and someone who impacted my life...someone who will never be forgotten.

Herkie and Sharon,
I remember when Ray was born to a house full of joy and activity.
I can never thank the two of you enough for the positive influences you were in my life when I needed it most. I know that your children have been blessed by God with your presence and mine have been blessed from the lessons I learned from you.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and yours in these difficult times.

I have known Ray since I was seventeen. I am now living in NC but I have memories of our friendship that I hold dear to me. I will miss our talks even though they have been only once a year lately. I know he has been a great man in his life and in his faith in Jesus his Lord and mine. I will miss him now and live with him for ever later. I send my prayers for comfort to everyone who is feeling his loss today.

I didn't know Ray for very long but I was so impressed with the way in which he dealt with his illness. He always had a smile and a genuine "How are you doing?" greeting, like nothing was wrong in his life! I got the feeling that he drew his strength from and for his family. I'm sure you are all very proud of him. I'm truly sorry for your loss.

Ray you were a good man, always had a smile on your face even when you were as sick as you were at times, you taught me many things, how to run a machine, how to deal with my daughter, when I hit a few rough patches, but most of all you tought me how to believe in God! We worked on many projects together, we talked about your loving family, your wife and your children, there will never be a day that goes by that I will not think of your laughter, you were a great man!! May you RIP Ray!! My thoughts and prayers to your whole family!

I can honestly say my life has been enriched by Ray. I am so proud of how he handled himself during this long battle with cancer. Ray showed everyone what it means to trust in Christ and to put ourselves into His hands. We will sadly miss his presence, but Ray will always remain in our hearts. Today Ray is enjoying the rewards of his Christian Faith and Rests in peace. Our hearts go out to Lisa and the children as they must move ahead and deal with this huge loss. They can all be very proud of their father and husband. I know all of us at Fancher Chair Co. surely are proud to have been a part of Ray's life and to of had him share in a part of ours.

Ray was our landlord, but over months he came more then just that to my family and I. He came my guardian angel and a friend. He has such a great smile even though he was sick, and he always had a great personality to go with that smile. I can ramble on and on about Ray and how a great person he was. But I want to thank him for always taking time to stop over and see how my daughter was feeling. Even though he wasn't feeling well he still checked on my daughter.
Ray I am so thankful you came into our life. Kevin and the kids are thankful for you everyday. You are so deeply missed. Keep smiling Ray
