Obituary of Raymond C. Brooks

Raymond C. Brooks, 44, of 311 Fair Oak Street, Little Valley, died Wednesday, June 26, 2013 in his home with his wife by his side. He was born March 28, 1969 in Jamestown, a son of Hebert Brooks and Sharon Apthorpe Mesel. He was employed by Fancher Chair as an engineer. He was a former member of Little Valley United Methodist Church and a current member of Conduit Ministries. He was also very active in Camp Findley and attended Red Bird Mission in Kentucky. A hard working man of many talents he enjoyed the outdoors, woodworking and improving his rental properties. He also had fond memories of working on his VW convertible and MG convertible. More than anything he was a family man and loved the role of husband and father the most. Surviving are his father, Herbert Brooks of Jamestown; his mother, Sharon Mesel and stepfather, Ernie Mesel of Jamestown; his wife, the former Lisa McKinney, whom he married August 26, 2000; 4 children, Piper and Haley Brooks and Christian and Michelle Card, all at home; a brother, Herbert Brooks III; 7 sisters, Pamela Andrews, Patricia Philips, Jill Lecceardone, Barbara Nygren, Jessica Bryant, Casey Kenney and Danielle Brooks; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday in Conduit Ministries, 120 Delaware Avenue, Jamestown. Pastor Ben Gerring will officiate. Visitation will not be observed. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Piper and Haley Brooks College Fund, c/o any First Niagara Bank Branch.
