Obituary of Donald A. Ferguson

Donald "Fergie" Ferguson, 78, of 880 Hunt Road, Lakewood, formerly of 37 West Columbia Avenue, died Monday December 30, 2013, in his home. He was born January 14, 1935, in Jamestown, a son of the late Donald and Margaret Gladis Ferguson. He attended Senior Adult Day Hab. Don was a kind and caring person always willing to lend a helping hand to his neighbors. He loved being around people and in his younger days would be seen hanging out at Paul Swan's gas station and Anderson Cleaners. He was an avid fan of Wheel of Fortune and he always had to show what they won to anyone who would listen. He also enjoyed watching old television shows of the Lone Ranger. Special thank you to all the staff at Busti IRA that sat by his bedside for the two months while he was losing his battle with stage 5 kidney failure. Also, thanks to Hospice Chautauqua County for all their help and care. Surviving are a sister Susan M. Rohlin of West Ellicott; a brother Richard Ferguson of Lakewood; a nephew Bryan Rohlin; a niece Wendy Rohlin and great nephews and niece Kevin, Patrick and Debi Rohlin. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in Busti IRA, 880 Hunt Road, Lakewood. Rev. Deacon Cathy Smith Hospice Chautuauqua County, will officiate. Inurnment will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
