John and children,
I was so glad that I had a good chat with Lucy at the SWCS 50th reunion. It had been years since I had seen either of you.
I remember first meeting Lucy at VBS at Chandler Street Baptist. She was a teen helper and fairly new to the church. Soon she met John and the rest is history. I too enjoyed her sweet smile when we talked. She will be missed but so glad that she joins other family in heaven.

RIP Mrs. Oberg! I knew her through church and Awanas. She was such an awesome lady that was very kind and who loved the Lord very much. She always thought of others before herself and she had so much patience. The years that I knew her I have always seen her with a smile, she had a sense of humor that would bring a smile to others, and she always tried to see the bright sides of things despite. She did a lot in making a lasting, positive impact in the lives of not only children, but also their families that were a part of Awanas, Sunday School, church, and I'm sure any other thing that she did. She will be missed. My prayers go out to her husband who is my opinion is just as amazing as she was and from what I've seen shared a very close and loving relationship with. My prayers also go out to her children, grandchildren, and other family members. From what I could tell she was the type that valued family highly and put them as a priority. I know that she was very proud of all her family in all they did and that she loved the time she could spend with them. My prayers also go out as well to her close friends, etc.

I believe I first met Lucy and John at my cousin Ruth's wedding to Dean Oberg, John's brother, in 1974. I was immediately drawn to her warmth, smile and laugh! Over these years I've been fortunate enough to see Lucy and her family at special dinners, reunions and other family gatherings. I enjoyed playing Mexican Train and competing in several of the Road Ralleys that John and Lucy created! What fun times! I will miss seeing her but look forward to seeing her again in the "better place". My thoughts and love go out to the family--treasure the memories you have--they will help you through the days ahead.

I am going to miss Lucy so much - we first met when we were kids at Chandler Street Baptist Church. She married my cousin John in 1968, and not too long after that she and John moved in next door and we have been neighbors for over 40 years! One of my best memories is the day back in 1969 when she and I spent hours making Christmas Cookies for our husbands who were both serving our country in Viet Nam. We made dozens of cookies and wrapped each cookie individually and packed them with great care, and brought them to the Post Office at the end of the day. We had so much fun talking and laughing that day and I will never forget it! Lucy always had a smile no matter what was going on - and such a warm and loving heart. I am sure going to miss her! Sending all our love and sympathy to John and family and all my cousins.

I met Lucy when I was about 6..we went to the Chandler Street Baptist Church together, and also went back and forth to each others' houses. We had so much fun together! We went to Camp Burton together (that was our church's Bible Camp, in Burton Ohio).I remember how we loved to play the game Risk! We had so much fun, but more importantly, we found Jesus together! I even was in Lucy's and John's wedding! I know Lucy is with her Savior now!!! My thoughts and prayers go out to John and the family! God Bless!
