Obituary of Robert A. Peterson

Robert A. "Bob" Peterson, 63, 110 West Third Street Jamestown, went home to be with the Lord Thursday December 4, 2014. He was born September 18, 1951 in Jamestown the son of the late C.G. Ivar "Inge" and Caroline Peterson. Bob was a 1970 graduate of Jamestown High School. From 1985 until 1993, he owned the Coffee Cup in Jamestown where he was well known for his pancakes and home fries. Earlier he worked at Chautauqua Hardware, Proto Tool, Blackstone, and as a custodian for the Jamestown Public School system. Bob was a member of the Moose Lodge and the Elks Club. He enjoyed reading books, cooking, watching movies, helping others, and giving testimony of his faith. His true passion was his love of Jesus Christ and his desire to witness to others. Surviving are two daughters, Traci L. Peterson and Heather M. Peterson both of Jamestown; three grandchildren, Philip, Cory, and Melissa Tubbs all of Jamestown; a sister, Donna R. Johnson of Sinclairville; a brother, James A. Peterson of Seattle, WA; and a foster sister, Martha "Marty" Morrill of Jamestown. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Sandra P. Laboy; and a brother, John R. Peterson. A Memorial Service will be held at 3 p.m. Monday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Rick LaDue will officiate. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service Monday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Chautauqua County Humane Society 2825 Strunk Road Jamestown, NY 14701; or Kidder Memorial United Methodist Church 385 S Main Street Jamestown, NY 14701; or to a charity of choice. .
