Obituary of Douglas H. Fish
Douglas H. Fish, 68, of 3557 Colburn Drive, Bemus Point, died Tuesday April 28, 2015, in Veterans Administration Hospital, Buffalo.
He was born January 8, 1947, in Jamestown, a son of the late Howard and Anita Berggren Fish.
Doug attended Southwestern Central School and later Jamestown Community College.
He was a veteran of the US Army serving from 1966-69 during the Vietnam War.
Prior to his retirement he was a self employed contractor and earlier worked for Carborundum Manufacturing.
He was a longtime member of the Elks Lodge. His other memberships include Chautauqua Lake Fishing Association, Vietnam Veterans of America, Ellery Center VFW and a former member of the Lakewood Rod and Gun Club.
An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and plowing snow. He had a love of dogs, cooking for his family and playing cribbage with friends.
Surviving are his wife the former Cynthia Davidson, whom he married April 4, 1970; two children Matt Fish of Ashville and Julie (Matthew) Zanghi of Jamestown; seven grandchildren Andrew Danielson of Darlington, SC, Jared and Hannah Fish of Tamarac, FL, Adrianna and Alison Fish of Ashville and Alyssa Knight and Kaelyn Zanghi of Jamestown; daughter-in-law Kathleen McNeill Fish of Tamarac, FL; three sisters Sharon Michos, Loretta (Leonard) Nelson and Debbie Musemici and a brother Gregory (Teresa) Fish.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a son Michael Fish who died May 15, 2011.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Friends will be received from 4-7 p.m. Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home.
