Obituary of Kenneth J. Sonne

Kenneth J. Sonne, 67, of 10370 Bethany Center Road, East Bethany, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 25, 2015, in the Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester, NY. Ken was born February 6, 1948 in Jamestown, NY, a son of the late Kenneth and Olga Holmstrom Sonne. He was a 1966 graduate of Southwestern Central School. He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in 1970 and his Master of Science degree in Education in 1971 from Buffalo State. Before his retirement he was employed as a dedicated industrial arts and driver's education teacher for the Elba Central School System for over 30 years. He was currently working for the Wyoming Central School System. Surviving are his wife the former Rhonda Giddy, three daughters, Jenna Baca (Derek), Jill Vogt (Bruce), Julie Sonne , two grandchildren, Nathan and Megan Vogt and a sister, Ann Marie Peters. The funeral will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, June 1, 2015, in the Lind Funeral Home, 805 West Third St. Jamestown, NY. His cousin, Bruce Hanson will officiate. Burial will be in the Busti Cemetery. Friends will be received from 12:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
