Obituary of Evelyn L. Gibbons

Evelyn L. Gibbons, 86, of 545 Howard Avenue, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday February 23, 2016. A native of Findley Lake, NY she was born April 27, 1929, a daughter of the late Carl and Eva Huntley Thieme. She was a graduate of Clymer High School. As wife of Rev. Richard "RJ" Gibbons, they shared an evangelizing ministry and pastoring for over forty five years for which she was the organist. She had also worked as a sales associate for Burdines and Bon Ton. She attended Family Church on Garfield Road. Surviving are her husband whom she married October 2, 1946; two children Judi Knight of Tampa, FL and Richard Gibbons of French Creek; eleven grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a son Rev. Daniel J. Gibbons in 2007; four brothers Carl, Merle, Clinton and Alfred Thieme and three sisters Ruth Thieme, Geraldine Thieme and Mary Brown. Friends will be received from 2-4 p.m. Sunday in the Lind Funeral Home followed by a funeral service which will begin at 4 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be Monday in Mina Cemetery.
