Obituary of Joan C. Colera

Joan C. Colera, 74, of 240 Schuyler St. passed away at 11:35 a.m. Friday, March 11, 2016, in W.C.A. Hospital. A lifelong area resident, she was born August 29, 1941 in Jamestown, NY a daughter of the late John and Dorothy Branstong Underwood. Before her retirement she was associated with her husband at AJ's Texas Hots for over 30 years. She was a former member of the Ingjald Lodge 65 Independent Order of the Vikings. She will be remembered as one who loved to knit and has made many blankets and sweaters for her family. She also loved traveling and enjoyed her trips to Florida, the casino and playing bingo. Surviving are her husband of 32 years, Samuel G. Colera whom she married January 17, 1984, a daughter, Lynn M. (Larry) Johnson of Jamestown, NY, two sons, Richard J. (Gary Catarella) Bellardo of Charlotte, NC, David A. (Tammy) Bellardo of Kennedy, NY, four step-children, Vicki Colwell, Shirley Dietz both of Jamestown, Debbie (Vern) Youngberg of Frewsburg, NY, Anthony Cafaro of Buffalo, NY, three grandchildren, Benjamin J. Johnson of Jamestown, Jon Bellardo of Frewsburg, Brittany Bellardo of Kennedy, 10 step-grandchildren, a great granddaughter, Kimberly Fardink, several step-great grandchildren and a brother Gary Underwood of Florida The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Dennis W. Mende, pastor of Holy Apostles Parish will officiate. Burial will be in the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2-5 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
