During my 21/2 year opportunity to serve as interim pastor at St Luke, I never met a friendlier, more enthusiastic, optimist and positive servant than Ron. His deep love for "the other" was evidenced in his absolutely TIRELESS service to Room In the Inn and their innovative prison ministry - both of which he considered his "calling" in Christ.
Ron was a humble servant of the Gospel who lived in the joy of Christ's gift of salvation and died in God's Grace and Peace. I'll miss him and I know his good buddy Bryan Maus will, too.
God's Peace and Healing to all who loved him so much - and felt, somehow, more energized when in his company.

I have known Ron for over 20 years and have worked with him for 13 years. I suppose I was Ron's best friend, we enjoyed so many jobs and outings together. He was part of my family, he loved my boys and wife. I looked on our counter the day Ron died and there sat two cards from Ron, one for my son Bradley for graduating college and the other for my wife Brenda's birthday. I also enjoyed spending time with Ron while he was helping others at many of the ministries he was involved with. Ron's family should be very proud of the legacy Ron made in Charlotte. We will truly miss Ron. We are all better people for having known Ron. God bless his family and friends.

Sending my sincere condolences. I've known Ron since early childhood and at one time, we were such close friends and classmates of JHS class of 1969. As we grew older, we grew so far apart (although we did catch up at class reunions!).
RIP to a dear old friend!

Sad news to hear that Ron had passed away, he was one of my friends who was on my list to call and catch up with. Ron was a faithful friend always ready to lend a hand and fix something or bring over some special cookies he'd found in abc store somewhere. Beaming always, he'd arrive at my door looking like a teenager, he'd never pass for 65. I remember giving him a ride to the airport to fly north to visit his aging Dad. RIP Ron, God bless you as you rest in God's loving arms.
