It was such a pleasure to know Bud. He was a very kind, nice and generous man. I had many fun times playing Pickleball with Bud. I shall miss this wonderful man that was such a good sport and so much fun to be around. Thanks Bud for all your words of encouragement and the great times we had as Pickleball partners. Sue

Dear Bud,
We feel a thousand times richer because you crossed the paths of so many lives; your family, your students, your community and yes, we pickle ball players, but, God knows, we shall miss you.
Life will not quite be the same without you. We won't forget your wit, your thoughtfulness, your generosity. You treated everyone with great respect. You were a man of principle. You played a mean game of tennis and pickle ball, but, you were always fair; you were always the good sport. As a poet said in his eulogy on the loss of his son, "You are now like the wind; we cannot see you, but, we will always feel you."

I met Bud (Bud-man) through the YMCA in the Pickleball league they had on Friday nights. I am so very happy that I got to know him and be able to be his partner in the sport he really loved. He will be missed by all; my thoughts and prayers go out to you his family in this time of sadness. On the other side of the coin he is in a much better place now so at least we can hold on to that. Miss you Bud-man.

I met Bud at the YMCA on the pickle ball courts We played routinely..had similar schedules..Bud was a joy to play pickle ball with and against. He was always a good sport . Never lost his composure. Played for the love of the game.He was formidable at the net.Was fun to challenge him at the net.He usually got the best of you.. his lob serve was profitable and his way of being playful and messing with you.His passing is one of life's mystery.Bud was a great guy and we will all miss him. Rest in Peace.

I am so very sorry to hear about your loss. Mr. Thompson was my calculus teacher and was one of my very favorite teachers of all time. He was one of those rare teachers who managed to be both fun and who also truly cared about his students and we felt that. I will always remember him rolling the dice to see who would answer his next question and his subtle but wonderful sense of humor. He will be missed and remembered with fondness always.

Mr. Thompson was a fabulous teacher and a wonderful human being. He urged me on to take an additional math class that I did not need for graduating, but firmly suggested that I should do it, even if not required, framing it with "you really should beyond the minimum to succeed." That was in 1974 and that memory and his mentoring sticks in my heart.
I disliked school then, and was disorganized & unclear about my future. Fortunately, Mr. Thompson was a role model and an excellent educator and inspired me to move forward. He was funny and flexible and a good explainer, but always firm and took no guff. May his family find solace in the many lives that he made better.

Condolences to the Thompson family. Mr. Thompson was a great and inspirational teacher who influenced more than one generation to go beyond competence and strive for excellence. His combination of a solid foundation and quick wit made it a joy to learn. I am honored to have been his student so many years ago. "You can't outfox the fox!"

I am very sorry for your loss. I met Bud when I student taught with him in 1976. We have stayed in contact over the years. I always appreciated his humor and his easy laugh. He never seemed to take himself too seriously and always had time to help others. I will remember him as a first class gentleman who lived his life to benefit those around him.
