Obituary of Kenneth L. Andrus

Rev. Kenneth L. Andrus, 86, of 34 Hyde Park, Panama, entered his heavenly rest, Thursday December 1, 2016. He was born February 20, 1930, in Austinburg, OH, a son of the late Ira and Hallie Partridge Andrus. He was a graduate of Baptist Bible Institute, Cleveland, OH. As a minister of the Baptist Church he led congregations in Toledo and Springfield, OH, Grove City and Erie, PA as well as Sebring, Florida. He served on the boards of directors of Baptist Mid Mission and Skyview Ranch Baptist Camp. He enjoyed playing the piano and organ, gardening, landscaping and spending time with his family. Surviving are his wife of 61 years Kathleen Mae West Andrus, whom he married August 13, 1955; four children Mellanie (Larry) Strong of Macomb, MI, Kenneth (Ruth) Andrus of Grand Rapids, MI, Shelley (Aaron) Hedderick of Erie, PA and Tammy (Rodney) Sprowls of Panama; fourteen grandchildren and twenty one great grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Panama Baptist Church. Rev. Rodney Sprowls will officiate. Burial will be in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery, Erie, PA. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service Monday in the church.
