Mr. Caruso was my fifth grade teacher. I was a little apprehensive (to say the least) when I found out I had him for 5th grade. I was worried all summer. My mother reassured me I would be fine in his class. It turns out it was the best year of my schooling! I loved him and appreciated his way of disciplining those who needed it so the rest of us could learn. It didn't take long until everyone behaved and enjoyed being in his class. I'm a retired special education teacher now who was inspired by Mr. Caruso to love teaching, especially those who struggled. My condolences to his family.

Nothing in this world we live in can prepare us to lose someone we love to death. I am sending my condolences to both family and friends due to the death of Sam Caruso. There is, however, hope for our dear loved ones in the Bible at John 5:28-29 and Rev. 21:4. For more upbuilding information for families, individuals and children go to jw.org and download the publication "When Someone You Love Dies". It is a wonderful publication for people of all religious backgrounds. It's been a great help to me when I have lost loved ones in death. I know, only too well, just how stressful and emotional a time like this can be so know that my thoughts and prayers are definitely with you.

Gerri, Our hearts go out to you in the loss of your dear husband, Sam. We remember Sam from the time he was teaching at Bush and when Marta fainted while practicing for a music program she woke up in the arms of Sam as he carried her to Mr. Alexis office. So many children's lives have been influnced by him.
We pray that God will wrap you in His arms and give you peace. Love, Ginny and Bill

Gerri,
We were saddened to hear of Sam's passing and extend to you our most sincere sympathy. Sam was a great guy and a wonderful friend to Phyllis and Dad. We always enjoyed visiting with the two of you on our trips to Jamestown. You had a wonderful marriage--that was evident to anyone who was around you for any time at all.
We know he will be missed by his many friends and all of those whose lives he touched.
Ginger, Dave, Sam and Jack
