My sincere sympathy to you, Shirley's family. I was saddened to learn of her passing. I came to know Shirley at the time she moved into Hultquist Place. At that time it was suggested to me, a volunteer at LSS, that Shirley may welcome a visit, to help with the adjustment. From that first visit on, most every week, she and I would chat in her room. We talked about Swedish things (I, too, am Swedish), and on most visits she shared with me about you, her family--she was so proud of and grateful for you! She shared about your respective professions and families, about a bike tour in Europe, I believe it was, that one or two of you embarked upon. It was very clear how much she loved you all. As recently as week before last, on one of my rounds, I chatted with her--looked at her Dala horses and the beautiful collection of family pictures on her wall--she would often tell me about each one. Again, my deepest sympathy to you. I was blessed by my weekly visits with Shirley.
