Obituary of Phyllis R. Abbott

Phyllis R. Abbott, 77, of Van Buran Street, Jamestown, died Thursday March 23, 2018, in UPMC Chautauqua WCA. A native of Jamestown, she was born June 7, 1940, a daughter of the late Samuel and Teresa Guarnieri Genco. She had been employed by Ira Lou Spring Post American Legion as a kitchen worker. She was a communicant of St. James Catholic Church. Surviving are four children Kim (Doug) Jordan, Dee (Jim) Frank, Allan Abbott and Jean (Dan) Harnish all of Jamestown; eight grandchildren Jason Jordan, Jessica Klemens, Dereck Frank, Ericka Carpenter, Alyssa and Brianna Abbott and Daniel and Nicholas Harnish; five great grandchildren and siblings Paul Genco, Rosalie Rappaport, Joseph Genco, Janice Miller and Sam Genco. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Allan Abbott, Sr, whom she married January 31, 1959 and who died May 19, 2010. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Visitation will not be observed.
