Obituary of William E. Schobeck

William E. Schobeck, 95, of Bemus Point, passed away Thursday, August 9, 2018, at UPMC Chautauqua. A lifelong Chautauqua County resident, he was born June 3, 1923, in Jamestown, the son of the late Ernest F. and Corrine S. Schobeck. He was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Army and participated in the D-Day invasion. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by Blackstone Corporation. He was a present or former member of the Chautauqua Lake Yacht Club, Jamestown Skeet & Trap Club, and a 72-year member of Mount Moriah Lodge No. 145 Free and Accepted Masons. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Ann P. Schobeck, whom he married June 26, 1954, and who died October 24, 1998, and his sister, Sally S. Lausterer.
