Obituary of Richard L. Selden
Richard L. Selden, 77, died Friday December 28, 2018, in the Lutheran Home.
A native of Buffalo, he was born June 24, 1941, the son of the late Emmett and Helen Rexford Selden.
He was a veteran of the US Army serving from 1959-62.
Dick was employed by Accu-Rite in the maintenance department and was also a farrier for 25 years.
He volunteered as a Cub Scout leader and coached girls softball in the Falconer Recreation Summer League. He was past president of both the Chautauqua Trail Riders and Frewsburg Circling Squares and was a member of Carroll Lodge Free and Accepted Masons.
A man of faith, Dick attended Kidder Memorial United Methodist Church, Bemus Point United Methodist Church and Ellery Center Baptist Church throughout his life.
In 2009 Dick received a kidney transplant donated by a friend from church Barbara Blackburn. This gave new life to him for which he was eternally grateful.
Surviving are two children Troy Selden of Denver, CO and JoLynne (Kent) Dorr of Lawson, MO; two stepchildren Erik (Margie) Fincher of Russell, PA and Kim (Mike) Barber of Jamestown; seven grandchildren and niece Cynthia Selden of East Amherst, NY.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Bemus Point Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 9-11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home.
