Obituary
Obituary of Lisa M. Troche
Lisa M. Troche, 56, formerly of Lakewood, NY passed away Sunday June 2, 2019 in the Dunkirk Rehabilitation and Nursing Center with her family by her side.
She was born September 23, 1962 in Jamestown the daughter of Patricia Knorr Valone and the late John Valone.
Lisa was a graduate of St Lawrence University. Her heart was always with her alma mater and she enthusiastically tried to convince each of her five children to attend there. They still to this day never understood her love for Canton, NY and the wild winters in the middle of nowhere she would forever talk about.
Lisa loved swimming and made every child join the swim team in hopes of getting that one child who actually shared the love of the sport with her. She eventually was successful with only one of the five children. She never missed a swim meet and was the loudest parent at every single meet. Her other children often reminded her that Harrison could not hear her screaming while he swam, but she would scream and wildly wave her hands like a mad woman anyway.
Some favorite childhood memories that the kids have of mom are, the long road trips to Hilton Head or Florida; her love of singing while her son played the piano; Christmas in Ellicottville, skiing and having mom make us wave to her after every ski run; summers spent on Chautauqua Lake, swimming, or mom watching us sail; and walking the grounds and listening to lectures or concerts at Chautauqua Institution.
Lisa was always laughing and making everyone around her laugh no matter the circumstances. Her laugh and stories of her adventures made any day better.
Her five children were her whole world and watching them grow into the people they are now was her proudest accomplishment in life.
Surviving besides her mother of Jamestown are her husband of 35 years, Joseph M. Troche of Lakewood; are her five children: Nicholas (Stephanie) Troche of Lancaster, PA; Jessica Troche (Gareth) Conn of Belfast, Ireland; Mackenzie Troche of Maryland; Harrison Troche of Rhode Island; Benjamin Troche of Lakewood; her beloved grand puppies, Winston T. Troche and Penelope Troche; and a brother, Kris Valone of Midland, TX.
Besides her father, she was preceded in death by a sister Julie Valone Stebbins and a brother, Scott Valone.
A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Visitation will not be observed.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Road, Jamestown, NY 14701; or Lupus Research Alliance, www.lupusresearch.org.
