Carl was a very good friend to many. I think of him as the guy who always brought people together like this reunion of friends that he arranged in 1983. I had the pleasure of sharing many city bus rides to Jamestown High School on "Old 119" as we called that bus with the tattered leather seats. We both took little swatches from those seats the year "Old 119" was to be retired and glued them in our yearbooks. I've probably shared more laughs with Carl than any other person outside of my immediate family members. I'm sure he is laughing even more now that he has left his bodily pains behind. Godspeed Swede!

I will miss Carl greatly, he was always so sweet and kind and took time to chat and get to know me. It was a privilege and an honor to be one of his caregivers. He always had a smile and kind words no matter what he was going through. From my family to yours we will keep you all in our prayers. I love you carl

This is Carl holding my daughter Kristina in 1977. Carl wrote several letters to Kristina when she was deployed with the US Army in Iraq. Carl had a heart of gold and will be missed by many. Rest in peace my old friend.
