Obituary of Carl H. Swanson

Carl H. Swanson III, 68, of Panama, NY, passed away Sunday October 27, 2019 in UPMC Hamot Medical Center, Erie, PA. He was born December 28, 1950 in Jamestown the son of the late Carl H. and Helen Johnson Swanson Jr. Carl attended Jamestown High School, and for many years, worked with his father at Carl H. Swanson Jr. Engineering and Drafting Supplies. He was a lifetime member of the NRA. Carl enjoyed home repair and carpentry, equipment repair, lawn maintenance, gardening, hunting, photography, and he loved his dogs. Even though Carl devoted most of his time to working on his own property, he was always willing to help others when he could. Surviving are his brother, Craig H. Swanson of Jamestown; his aunt, Aliceanne V. Johnson of Gerry, NY; and numerous cousins. The family would like to thank all of the staff who cared for Carl at Heritage Green, UPMC Chautauqua, and UPMC Hamot. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Lee O'Brien will officiate. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service Saturday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
