Obituary of Denise A. Donelson

Denise A. Donelson, 67, of Clymer, New York passed away on January 4th at Corry Memorial Hospital. She was born on July 3, 1952, the daughter of Kenneth Horrocks and Ellen Bishop. Denise was a 1970 graduate of Panama Central School. After high school, she attended cosmetology school, JCC and JBC. She was employed by Panama Central School as a teaching assistant for thirty years. Beloved by her colleagues and the kids, she was very affectionately known as Mrs. 'D.' or Mrs. McGillicuddy and will be remembered for the many lives she touched through her teaching relationships. Denise loved cooking and baking, teaching, craft fairs, racquetball, the ocean, hearts and Pepsi. But most of all, she loved her children and granddaughter. Surviving is a son, Jeremie (Denise) Donelson of Panama, New York; a daughter, Danielle Donelson of Concord, North Carolina; a granddaughter, Julia Donelson; her foster father, Norm (Sheryl) Button of Panama; two brothers, Rick (Dee) Davis of Ashville, NY and Randy (Becky) Davis of Sherman, NY; nieces, Heather (Brooke) Barone, Pam Troup, Heidi Fetters, Hope Fetters, Jill Davis and April Davis, and a nephew, Jon (Valerie) Davis. She was preceded in death by her husband, Steven Donelson; her mother; and her beloved foster mother, Elaine Shreve. The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday January 12th in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Roy E. Ferguson will officiate. The family will receive friends from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday January 11th in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Clymer Volunteer Fire Department.
