Obituary of MaryAnn Thorn

MaryAnn Thorn, 66, of South Main Street in Jamestown, passed away Friday, August 14, 2020 at UPMC Hamot in Erie. She was born January 20, 1954 in Jamestown, a daughter of Rose Marie Russo Ognibene and the late Thomas P. Oginbene. She was a 1971 graduate for Jamestown High School, as well as Jamestown Business College, and was a member of St. James Church. Family, friends, neighbors and acquaintances alike were cherished by MaryAnn, who will be remembered among them for her beautiful smile, generous spirit and compassionate heart. In addition to her mother, Rose Marie Ognibene of Jamestown, surviving are two sons, Adam (Jessica) Thorn of Buffalo and Thomas (Christy) Thorn of Jamestown. She was the loving grandmother of Cayden, Collin, Rylan, Emmett and Charlotte; sister of Michelle Ognibene of Jamestown and Marlene (Timothy) Sandberg of Warren, Pa.; and also had many nieces, nephews and cousins who loved her very much. She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas P. Ognibene in 2018. Following CDC guidelines regarding social distancing, friends will be received on a walk-through basis from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home. Masks are required. A private family service will be held, led by The Rev. Darrell G. Duffy. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
