Kevin and Bryan: I just discovered about your Dad's passing. I'm sorry for your loss. Your Dad and I attended Stonehill College together. I was in the class that graduated ahead of Joe and Kathy. We both were on hired by the Internal Revenue Service to work in Las Vegas and we trained for the job together in Salt Lake City. I married my wife Judy in Vegas and Joe was the Best Man at my wedding. You Dad and I remained in touch after he left Vegas and corresponded throughout the years. I live in Austin, TX now.
Jim Pumphret.

I was saddened to hear about the passing of my former neighbor and friend, Joe. As a teenager I lived across the street from The Mitchells and spent time hanging out with them. Joe was always very kind and lighthearted. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. Rest In Peace, Joe.

I have the fondest memories of Joe. He worked for my dad's architectural firm (he always described that job as "not especially fun," but fortunately he did not hold that against us). He became a dear friend to my aunt Terry Naetzker and to me. I absolutely loved his voice and his twinkling eyes and incredible sense of humor. He was one of those people who brought sunlight with him into the room, or into sailing or to any experience. I was so fortunate to make contact with him several months ago. He was the same Joe I knew from decades ago. Honest and dry and sincere. Loved him and love him still. -- Sarie N. Mackay

Carol:
Thinking fondly of you, my old friend. So sad to hear about Joe. He was such a good man . He was my Dad's CPA for years, until Dad's death in December, 1987. Stay strong and maybe someday I can give you a hug.
