Obituary of Robert I. Ross

Robert I. "Bubba" Ross, 81, of 11 E. 6th Street, died Wednesday July 7, 2021, in UPMC Chautauqua. He was born December 19, 1939, in Brookville, PA, a son of the late Robert M. and Betty Barnett Ross. Following graduation from high school, he served in the US Marine Corps from 1957-61. Prior to his retirement in 2000, he was employed the United States Postal Service as a letter carrier for 36 years. He was a member and vice president of the Jamestown Coin Club. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and visiting the local Vietnam Veterans club. He loved golfing with his buddies and betting on each round. Surviving is his wife Gloria Tanner Ross, whom he married March 2, 1962; three children Robert Ross of Jamestown, Christine (Robert Mann) Peterson of Steamburg and Patty (Dan Miller) Ross of Jamestown; six grandchildren Robert I. Ross and Errin Matthews both of Texas, Jon Ross of Jamestown, Kristy DiTonto of Randolph, Jade Peterson of Jamestown, and Peter J. Peterson of Rochester; nine great granddaughters and a brother James Ross of Waterford, PA. He was preceded in death by three brothers William, Dennis and John Ross and a sister Janice Gregor.
