PAUL R GRZESIK posted a condolence

Just learned the sad news of Bob's passing. I was Bob's neighbor in Painted Post back in the 80's. We both had young families as did a couple other neighbors (Hopkins, Monaghan). Together we were like one big family, and we shared many events (birthdays, holidays, proms). We especially got together on Friday evenings, usually at “Mr Bob's” house where we had a few (ok, maybe a lot) of “short ones”, Bob's name for a quart of beer. Over the years all of us moved away from the neighborhood and unfortunately, we lost touch with the Holmes'. However, some of us neighbors remained close friends and we still talk about the fun days we had with Bob and his wonderful family. On a personal level, Bob was one of the best men I've known. He was a person of integrity that dearly loved his family. He never complained, had a great sense of humor, loved sports, and was a quite a storyteller. Sincerest condolences and sympathy go out to Pat, Maureen, and Gavin. I can only imagine how much he is missed. But please know that “Mr Bob” will also be deeply missed by his Erwin St friends too.

Bob was my neighbor, classmate, teammate, role model and best friend in school. In everyone's life there are special people and Bob was special in mine. A gifted athlete he was always humble and deferred any praise to others rather than himself. Bob always went out of his way to make others feel special and important. His sense of humor and positive attitude made him a breath of fresh air when he walked into a room. Sincere condolences are extended to his loving family at this time. Harry Brown

The family of Lee 'Barney' Kellogg (1932-1995) extends to each of you our most sincere sympathy in the passing of your loved one. He was a popular Legionnaire of our Lakewood Legion Post 1286 Board many years ago. He will be missed. Stay strong; I know you will.
