Obituary of Robert Holmes

Robert C. "Bob" Holmes, 75, of 280 Shadyside Avenue, Lakewood, died Thursday August 19,2021, in his home surrounded by his loving family. A native of Hamilton, NY, he was born April 18, 1946, the son of the late Tilford and Dorothy Snitchler Holmes. He was a veteran of the US Air Force serving from 1966-70 including a tour of duty in Vietnam. He was employed by Agway for 32 years, prior to his retirement he was the Plant Manager of the Poland Center, NY Feed Plant. He was a member of the Lakewood American Legion and Lakewood Rod and Gun Club. Surviving is his wife Patricia Brewer Holmes, whom he married October 18, 1969, two children Maureen (Robert) Bogdanowicz of Lakewood, NY and Gavin (Trisha) Holmes of Oriskany Falls, NY; two grandchildren Griffin and McKenna Bogdanowicz; a sister in law Barbara (Dennis) Kochem; nephews Dennis (Amy) Kochem, Jr, Jeoffrey Kochem and Gardner Kochem and a trusty canine companion Dudley. A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Waterville Cemetery. Visitation will not be observed.
