Obituary of Alfred E. Farmer

Alfred E. Farmer, 69, of Elmsford, NY, formerly of Erie, Pa, passed away on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 in Calvary Hospital in the Bronx. He was born March 20, 1952, a son of the late Doris Farmer Smith. He graduated from Bellport High School and earned his masters degree from Gannon University in Erie, Pa. Before retirement, he was employed as a supervisor at Nabisco. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and loved basketball. He was a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity. Alfred is survived by his wife Toni Masterson Farmer; a daughter, Tia (Devon) Knuckles; a grandson Te'Von Elijah Knuckles; two brothers: Joseph (Carrie Munday) Farmer and Leonard Smith; five sisters: Georgette Farmer, Jeanette Farmer, Josette Smith, Loretta Smith, Darlene Farmer; nieces and nephews: Tyler Farmer, Jolel Farmer, Joe Farmer, Lastar Farmer, Jaral Farmer, Elijah Farmer, Michael Southwick, Jr., Bobbie Jo Kitchen, Sharice Farmer, Tasha Wright, Jamal Wright; and uncle Joe Lewis (Myra) Farmer. In addition to his mother Doris, he was preceded in death by a nephew Leon Farmer. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2021 in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Reggie Smith, pastor of Blackwell Chapel AME Zion Church will officiate. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery. Friends will be received from noon to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, for two hours prior to the service. Masks are required, regardless of immunization status, while in the funeral home.
