My deepest sympathy on the loss of Dear Mrs. Oste. I grew up living at 150 Willow Ave. since 1962. I still live in the same house that my parents and brothers also lived in. My parents passed away and my brothers all got married but I stayed here and when I got married I didn’t want to leave. I always loved the neighborhood. I fondly remember Mrs. Oste and her husband sitting on their front porch in the summer and I would stop and talk with them when I was out for a walk or walking up the street to get the city bus. They were always such a nice couple. My brother Vince who passed away was friends with the Erickson boys who lived on George Ave. My thoughts and prayers are with you Mr. Oste and your family. "May the Angels welcome you to Paradise, may the Martyrs greet you along the way, and may you see the face of the Lord this day, Alleluia." Long before she was Matt's Mom, she was my Aunt Toady. She was a very involved, kindly Aunt and it was always a pleasure to see her. She approached every task with her customary competence and vitality. She had a tender heart & had empathy for others. When you spoke to her, you felt like you were being heard. She was an "encourager" -- in 1971 when my Mom got a very serious diagnosis, Aunt Toady was one of our mainstays - she lifted us up & helped us keep going. She was a very devoted wife to dear Uncle George, a terrific Mom, a loving sister, a super Aunt, and a loyal & caring friend.
Let us all remember the words of Our Lord to St. Dismas, also known as the "Good Thief." St. Dismas said, "Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom." Jesus replied, "Amen, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise."
Today.

Uncle George, Matt and Stacie, I am so very sorry for the great loss you are all experiencing! She was such a wonderful lady! I will always remember her kind and caring ways! She had the BEST hugs!! I was so blessed to have spent time with her! I promise to continue our pizza nights with you Uncle George but will miss her presence and her lively banter!! She was so sharp!
Sending prayers of comfort and peace for you all!

I met you, Sylvia, near the end of your earthly life. I learned of your love for and from husband George and son Matthew so I kept whispering these memories to you at bedside. I thank our Lord Christ for all you meant to your family, to Immanuel Lutheran Church....and certainly for life eternal you now experience.
