I never got to meet Grandma Ruth, but we shared grandchildren, my grands her great grands, Bodee, June, and Edie. I’ve heard lots of loving stories, seen lots of pictures. She was always their first stop when going back to NY. I remember seeing a video of 7 y.o. June sitting next to her talking her ear off… and Ruth laughing and enjoying every minute. I know Matt loved his grandma as did our daughter, Laura. She seemed to be a wonderful example of how to live your life with joy. You don’t have to meet a woman like that to be inspired by her. Paul and I send our sincere condolences to you, Dave, and to all who loved her.

Dear Dave & Family,
Wish to share my condolence on the passing of your Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother, Ruth Anderson. Truly just a lovely lady.
Ruth (and Ted) sort of adopted Eileen and I as we were newlyweds in the house next door. I remember oh so well how Eileen turned to Ruth in tears shortly after our marriage moaning that company was coming and Potato Salad was to be on the menu. Eileen, being from New York City had never made Potato Salad in her life. It was a deli item for sure.
Ruth, with a laugh, said, "Eileen, We can do this,' and shortly thereafter the team of Ruth and Eileen produced just a scrumptious Potato Salad. In fact Ruth's recipe for Potato Salad has now been called upon by three generations of Widens!
Ruth (and Ted) Anderson very special people. So Sorry,
Bruce Widen

I’m the driver for Hultquist Place in Falconer. I dove for Ruth a few times. She was a remarkable lady! I’ll never forget her first time on the bus last year. I was putting the ramp down for her and she said I don’t need that! She went up the steps and got in the front seat! As I started to drive she asked me how old I thought she was? I’m think I just met you, now guess your age? I went along and said 80s, she said I’m 104, going to the dentist and I have all my own teeth! I was dumbfounded! I know she will be missed by everyone at Hultquist Place! I take comfort that she’s now in a better place reunited either the love ones who passed before her! RIP Ruth!

I served as Ruth and Ted's pastor at Kidder Memorial United Methodist Church and was blessed with their faithfulness and love. I have fond memories of helping with their transition to Lutheran and listening to great stories during my visits. What great long lives they both enjoyed! My condolences to the family.

David and family,
I have known your Mother since living near her on Wilton Avenue in Jamestown. She and your father were wonderful neighbors!!
My Mom and your Mom would have coffee and wonderful conversations together!
I didn't get to visit your Mother after she went to Lutheran, but kept up to date with news from our friend Jim Strong.
We are very sorry for your loss but also for a wonderful life that your Mother has had.
