Obituary of Robert Jackson Rohm

Robert Jackson Rohm, age 51, passed away unexpectedly January 24, 2023. He grew up in the Jamestown area and was a 1989 graduate of Southwestern Central School where he was a scholar athlete in track and field. Earning a degree in business from Miami University of Ohio, he completed a semester of law school at the University of Buffalo before pursuing his gift as a singer/songwriter and creator of seven albums. Jackson's legion of loyal fans has followed him across the country to hear his music and be inspired by his amazing gift to perform, compose beautiful songs, and lift the energy of any room he walked into –be it a stage in a thousand-person theater or a humble kitchen of anyone's home. He carried the torch for his family and friends when it came to pursuing our dreams relentlessly. He was a "Loving Husband" to Theresa with whom he recently relocated to Florida, a "Super Dad" to his six-year-old son Asher who adores him, "Uncle Jackson" to his awe-struck nieces and nephews who idolize him, and simply "Jackson" to his dad, mom, friends, and fans...he has been the clear example and inspiration to us all. In addition to the love for his music, he touched the lives of countless others through his selfless giving. Offering to write and perform music for charity events, weddings or funerals, Jackson was always focused on supporting others. He was a natural leader and passionate competitor. Whether swimming across the Niagara River or jumping from the Chautauqua Lake bridge, Jackson was always up for a challenge. Jackson lived life to the fullest in many ways and will be sorely missed. He is survived by his wife, Theresa Waby Rohm; son, Robert Asher Rohm; mother, Leslie P. Howe; father, Robert F. Rohm, Jr. (Kathleen); sisters, Amy R. Brinkley (John) and Susan J. Battler; and Theresa's parents Nancy and Ron Waby. He is further survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews including Laura Otander (Randy) and Bruce Battler (Judy). Jackson's favorite time of year has always been the 4th of July on Chautauqua Lake. He has never missed one. No matter where he was, Jackson always made it to his home for that holiday. His wife Theresa, along with family and friends, will be organizing a Celebration of Life on Chautauqua Lake this summer to give Jackson "one more 4th of July". There is nothing Jackson would love more than to see family and friends joining together to honor his life in the place that brought him so much joy and peace. A Memorial Service for Jackson will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, February 4th, 2023 in the First Covenant Church, 520 Spring Street in Jamestown, led by the Rev. Melvin R. McGinnis. The service will also be livestreamed by the church, accessible through First Covenant's website as well as on their Facebook page, 'First Cov Jamestown'. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Jackson Rohm Fund at Chautauqua Region Community Foundation, 418 Spring Street, Jamestown, New York 14701.
