Obituary of Thore Daniel Anderson

Thore Daniel "Dan" Anderson, 72, of 379 Broadhead Avenue, died Sunday January 29, 2023, in his home. A lifelong Jamestown resident, he was born March 25, 1950, a son of the late Thore and Esther Carlson Anderson. He was a 1968 graduate of Jamestown High School and went on to earn a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Albany where he was on the baseball team. Dan spent much of his career at Struthers Wells as a quality control engineer. He later worked for Chautauqua Hardware and for WCA Hospital in the finance department. He was a member of the Vikings, Thule Lodge and Lakewood Rod and Gun Club. Surviving is his wife Lynne Williamson Anderson, whom he married June 11, 1982; two children Andrew (Donnelle) Conti and Allison (Patrick) Slagle both of Jamestown; three grandchildren Claire Conti and Chase and Leah Slagle all of Jamestown and three nephews Paul, James, and Adam McGrath. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Michael Anderson and a sister Mary McGrath. The funeral will be held at 10 am Wednesday in the Lind Funeral Home. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received from 5-7 pm Tuesday in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to American Lung Association, 55 W.
