To Jeans Family, I had the pleasure of knowing Jean for the past 11 years. Her smile and sense of humor was one of a kind. I was only 14 when I came knocking on your door asking to mow your yard for a few bucks, little did I know you were going to change my life forever. At first it was just a show up and get the job done and be gone. But as the months past she always invited me in her (Better Home and Gardens) house and have a conversation and talk about life each week. I will never forget all the peanut butter cookies and milk you would leave on the chair under the front tree for me or watching Thursday night sunsets in the parlor if you weren’t working at the restaurant. We had many conversations about the weather and those darn deer eating your flowers. I almost thought you were going to choke me one time when I accidentally left your electric fence off and the deer ate all the lilies, but I apologised and we laughed it out because the next day I got zapped when I was pulling weeds..I never admitted it but honestly I never knew what were flowers or what were weeds, and you still hired me back the next year! I always cheated while playing Mancala, but somehow you always won. I believe I even had my first alcoholic drink with you after a day of work. Sshh I never told anyone. We shared countless memories together, taught me a lot about how to slow down and enjoy each and every day. Jean was family to me but she was also my mentor for all those years. Jean taught many life lessons to me, her smile and wonderful soul will be deeply missed. With Love, Ben Whittaker

Dearest Bobo family! It was my and Paul's great pleasure to have know Jean for years! We shared wonderful' Popham Beach dinners, parties and conversations'! Jean was one of the last of the Chuck and Bill, Bob H., and Bridges Popham Beach clan. Jean was always such a vivacious, full of life, energetic, beautiful soul that we knew! When my husband and I went to our cottage, for our Honeymoon (at Popham Beach) she along with Chuck and Bill had short sheeted our bed and put rice all throughout our sheets! So fun-loving and so typical! We'll never forget it as we are coming up on our 45th. this August. You, her family, must be so proud of the woman she was... Jean was a beautiful lady! We are honored that we had the pleasure of knowing Jean, enjoying time with her in Chautauqua as well as during a special trip to Italy! She was such a delightful person and always looked so beautiful both inside and out. Jean was always smiling and so caring. She really enjoyed life to the fullest, what a precious GEM she was.
