Love this photo of Phyllis, she was always so lovely and with such a beautiful smile! My mother Evalyn Paulson was a teacher colleague and friend of Phyllis, for many years at JHS. In going through my mother's greeting cards, there are so many from Phyllis (and in her perfect handwriting) that Mom saved. I'm not sure I remember this exactly right, but the two of them (and Esther Erickson maybe?) would go out after school every payday, and split a piece of cheesecake or some other treat at the Cake Shop or later on, at Lums. Their little celebration of a well-deserved reward, for all the long hours they put in as English teachers! They often ate lunch together too, in between preparing for classes and correcting tests. I like to think of them catching up with each other now in heaven. My sympathy to all of Phyllis' family, she was a special soul.
