Barb was like a mother to me when I was young and far from home. She always included me in her family events and her many siblings treated me like one of their own. It was the first time I ever felt like I had a big fun family. I have so many fond memories of holidays at Barbs house, celebrating special occasions and just hanging out while the guys were hunting or fishing or racing. Most of all, I cherished the fact that Barb remained dedicated to our sweet friendship despite the passing years and distance between us. She came to my wedding, sent me anniversary cards and birthday cards to my kids every year she was able. I admired her strength, her conviction and her love of family. She knew how much I loved her son.
Thank you Matt and Penni for taking such good care of her for so long after her stroke. And thank you for welcoming me into your home for that last precious visit not so long ago. I loved her dearly, and will carry that love in my heart for the rest of my days. May she rest in peace knowing how loved and cared for she was.
