I only met this sweet lady once so i did not know her very well. This was at my daughter Hayley and Evelyn's grandson Jonathan's wedding.I do know that she raised some loving, caring and devoted daughter's. They took excellent care of her when she could no longer care for herself. That in itself is a testament to what kind of person and mother she was.I hope her family and friends will find some comfort in knowing that she is now in the arms of Jesus. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Marcia and Bob Taylor

Evelyn was a great blessing to us in the ministry. Wayne quite often would get bronchitis once a year and miss at least one Sunday. One year Evelyn prayed and fasted for him before winter came that he wouldn't get sick, and he didn't! I can't tell you how many times I called her house and told her I was calling prayer central. She was an amazing intercessor. She also prayed in a small group with me, Jeane Sherman, Emily Newell and sometimes Shirley Peterson. In those prayers meetings she prayed through for parishioners in her kid's churches when it came time for personal requests. She rarely asked for anything for herself. I told her when we get to heaven God is going to say to those of us that were in the forefront of ministry, "Move aside." And then he would say, "Come on down Evelyn" and we would all see where the real power had come from for our ministry...Evelyn praying for us and our people. My favorite memory was when we prayed that God would match the brick for the handicapped addition. Don Walker visited and from the pulpit commented on how well the brick blended with two different ones we already had. The next week in our prayer meeting Evelyn said, "God just looks down at these 4 little old ladies and answers us." I was in my 40s!!! I'm so grateful for Evelyn and her whole family. What a legacy she left.
