Obituary of Clare M. Berg

Clare M. Berg, 79, of 9 Van Buren Street, died Wednesday March 27, 2024, in UPMC Hamot. He was born April 12, 1944, in Jamestown, a son of the late Harold and Marion Berg. Following graduation from Frewsburg Central School, he served in the US Army as a wheel and trac mechanic. He was employed by NACO Trucking as a diesel technician and earlier had worked for Falconer Glass for many years. He was a member of War Vets Recreation. Clare was a car fanatic who enjoyed old cars, going to the races, tractor pulls, and golfing. More than anything he loved time spent with his family. Surviving is his wife Sandy Covert Berg; two sons Troy (Mamie) Berg of Gerry and Mark (Peggy) Berg of Jamestown; grandchildren Alissa (Jordan) Yax of Buffalo, Andrew (Magally) Berg of North Tonawanda, Troy "TJ" (Sara) Berg, Jr., of Derby, NY, Raymond (Ariana) Fuller of Gerry, Blaine (Brittany) Berg of Jamestown and Bailey (Armando) Berg of Ripley; five great grandchildren and three brothers Wayne Berg of Fairview, PA, Harold "Sonny" (Janis) Berg of Jamestown and Timothy Berg of Jamestown. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a son Todd Berg in 1980. The funeral will be held at 1 pm Monday April 1, 2024, in the Lind Funeral Home. Friends will be received from 11am-1 pm Monday in the funeral home and following the service at Laurie's Country Kitchen on Foote Avenue. Memorials may be made to the Leukemia Society.
