I have such wonderful memories of my relationship with Norm. Norm hired me in 2007 and we worked together until his retirement in 2014. He was fair and focused on the task at hand but on a few occasions we were able to take a few moments to unwind at the end of the day. These moments were when we were away from home and at 8,9,10, etc. at night. During these fleeting moments, Norm would want to hear about my family, and he would even share some things about Linda, their children and grandchildren. He was so proud of all of them. He, as I, hated missing important family events. He missed his family greatly when he was away. I can assure you of that. When the family discussion was done, we would move on to, you guessed it, baseball, hunting and other sports. I am an oriole's fan and, you all know, Norm loved the Yankees. We spent great moments smack talking about each other's team. I am so grateful that Norm hired me. It's the only way I would've gotten to know him. He had a profoundly positive effect on my life. I miss him and think about our discussions often. I hope that Linda and family can find warmth and solace through their memories of Norm. No doubt they have far more memories of him than me. I especially like to remember when Norm and I would get laughing. We could hardly breathe. This memory sometimes gets me laughing just thinking about it. Rest easy Norm! You will not be forgotten! I am so very sorry for Norman's passing. Memories of growing up in Bear Lake are some of my most treasured memories. The Smith family has always been special in my life. Playing football in the park, working on a racecar and friendship will always be special for me. My condolences to the whole family.

My condolences and prayers go out to Norman’s family and friends. Norm and I were classmates at Panama. Ever the wit and prankster, Norm acquired the nickname of “Normal Norman”. I believe it was Mr. Tutmaher that gave him that somewhat sarcastic label in chemistry class. It is my prayer for peace of mind and good memories for his family and friends. Norm…may you rest in peace.

Very saddened this morning, to learn of Norm's passing. Although it's been 50+ years, I'll never forget the times we spent together at PCS, and his incredible sense of humor. Condolences to all family and friends.
