I lived up the street from the Johnsons in the 1950's--60's. I was several years older from Jeff and Tim. We always had a great friendship. I always admired the soundness of Harold and Carol's faith in the Lord and in which they raised their young men.
Many years passed and Carol became a special part and resident of Heritage Park.
I was blessed as her chaplain by remembrances, her faith in the Lord and her love for all.
Blessings and prayers to Jeff and Tim and family

Every November my cell phone would ring. It was Carol for our annual conversation. First thing we talked about was, "is this finally going to be the Bills' year to win the Super Bowl?" Second, Happy Thanksgiving. And third, one year closer to 100. Carol was up-to-date everything on the Bills. They were fun phone calls and my brother, Dan, and I are going to miss them. Most important, with my mom and dad gone, Carol made sure we got a phone call for Thanksgiving. Always cheerful when my aunt and uncle call, and was a bonus every time Carol checked up on us. Then the birthday countdown: 86 ... 87 ... 90 ... 93 ... Carol said she was still here for a reason. But finally my mom got tired of waiting for her. I guess it was time for my mom and Carol to start yapping again. Doug, Dan and Logan will miss those November phone calls, but we understand it's time to be reunited with everyone who has already gone ahead. We will miss the house on the hill and the beautiful gardens. All childhood memories. Thank you Carol for everything. And even though we won't be getting cinnamon coffee cake from Jamestown this Christmas, we know you will be thinking about making one for us. Go Bills! - Doug and Dan Kates in Tampa

Carol and her dear neighborhood friends, Minerva, and my mom Marie, (“Three Musketeers”) would meet at each other’s homes to share a cup of coffee, sweet treats, and catch up on the joys and challenges going on in each other’s lives. At times even some juicy tidbits were shared with limitless laughter. What a wonderful time they had together, and how lucky they were to have this friendship for 50 plus years.
This photo was taken in Carol’s backyard, which was beautifully landscaped by her. It could have been featured in a garden magazine! She certainly had a green thumb with the flowers!
I’d like to think the coffee pot is on in heaven, and the “Three Musketeers” are reunited, ready to resume their fun times.
Carol was a lovely lady, who among other things inspired me to enjoy all the fulfillment that comes with gardening. She will definitely be missed.
