Obituary of Carol J. Johnson
Carol J. Johnson, 94, of Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing, died Wednesday May 15, 2024, in the facility.
Born November 24, 1929, in Jamestown, she was a daughter of the late Sven Axel and Madeline Elsie Johnson Anderson.
She was a 1949 graduate of Jamestown High School.
Prior to her retirement in 1993, she was employed by the Jamestown Public School System as a reading and math paraprofessional at Love Elementary School for 20 years.
She was a lifelong member of Zion Covenant Church where she confirmed in 1944. She went on to be active in church as a Sunday School teacher, Bible school teacher, choir member, Music Committee, Bible Study, Senior Visitation Team, and Oldie but Goodies Bible Study.
Her other memberships include Norden Women's Club and a life member of Parent Teacher Association.
She enjoyed roller skating and ice skating, loved tending her garden and was an avid Buffalo Bills Fan and a member of the "Bills Mafia".
Surviving are two sons Jeffrey (Karen) Johnson of Phoenix, AZ and Timothy (Terry) Johnson of Wichita, KS; three grandchildren Nicole (Joshua) Beyrle of Wichita, Erik (Austin) Johnson of San Luis Obispo, CA, and Christine (Joseph) Valenti of Oahu, HI; six great grandchildren Cash and Claire Beyrle, Cameron and Charlotte Johnson and Aero and Rome Valenti; two sisters Kay (Russ) Brown of Longs, SC and Patricia (Jack) Wall of Royal Oak, MI; a brother Curt (Judy) Anderson of Bloomfield, CO; a sister in law Patricia Anderson of Irvine, CA, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins located throughout the United Stares.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Harold Johnson, whom she married September 29, 1951, and who died August 6, 2002, and a brother Richard Anderson June 15, 2002.
The funeral will be held at 2 PM Thursday in Zion Covenant Church.
Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 4-6 Wednesday in the Lind Funeral Home and for one hour prior to the service in the church Thursday.
